    ages 6 to 16

    Our small, friendly classes in our Canonmills studio give children the chance to explore, experiment and develop their artistic skills. With supportive guidance, each session offers the time and space to create with confidence.

    Monday & Tuesdays

    Ages 6-10 years 4.30-6pm

    with Kristel Bodenseik

    Fun and funky self-portraits.

    Using each child's own image, young artists will create an illustrated version of themselves. The final illustration will include detailed design areas and origami paper decoupage to produce a beautiful self- portrait. We will also design a 3D embossed, heraldic family shield using family favourite icons.

    Wednesdays & Thursdays

    Ages 10-14 years 4.30pm-6pm

    with Ada Hayden Joiner

    A sophisticated version of our younger class, using personal emblems to create a flowing, illustrated self-portrait. Students will apply gold-leaf embellishments to enhance the effect. We will also create illuminated lettering initials, using ancient techniques and gold leaf to finish each personal design.

    Saturdays

    Ages 14+ Art & Portfolio Development 10am-12pm

    with Kristel Bodenseik

    Combining books with art we will delve into stories and use actual books to create a book sculpture that physically represents each students chosen work. This course will include working sketches, detailed designs and an imaginative finished sculpture.

  • About Children's Term Classes

    Our term-time courses run in 10-week blocks throughout the year for ages 6 to 16 with a half-term break. Projects have previously covered drawing, painting, mixed media, sculpture and printmaking, with themes tailored to each age group. Projects may change each term.

    Duration: 10 weeks

    Class length: 1.5 hours ages 6-14 classes | (14+ Saturday class is 2 hours)

    Fee: £260 to £280 per course
